perils with writing and whatnot
Right before Christmas hit, I was going through my emails to see if anyone had commented on my last post, Disenchantment at Christmas. I came across a comment made by by another blogger, Irene. However it wasn’t on my last post and, instead, was on my About page. She was nominating me for The Blog of the Year 2013 Award. I had seen others get this award and had seen some of the blogs who had gotten the one for 2012. I had been wanting this award for a while so when I read the email of Irene’s comment, as you would expect, I was ecstatic. Although the other awards mean a lot to me too, this one covers such a large variety of types of blogs. This is a milestone for me.
Thank you, Irene
Please visit her blog. She’s quite entertaining.

Section 3: I’m awarding this “The Blog of the Year 2013 Award” to:
Mary’s blog, 1950 Memories of Suburban Adventures
Mary’s blog, like mine, is about days long gone. Mary wants to leave something for her children and their descendants. What better is there than family memories and history? None I can think of. The 1950s and 1960s were magical times for those of us who were growing up during those years. Although some had more than they probably needed, along with those of us who had just enough, if that, had wonderful times. Mary tells these stories, giving us reason to ponder and smile.
Mary, I hope you will accept my nomination for this award.
Happy New Year to all of you!
